Faucet Foot

Working in Black and White for a better tomorrow

Born in the closing days of World War II, your Humble Photographer was raised in the age of film.  He'll use any old thing, but does like the feel of a fine camera, prefering a Leica, Nikon, or Hasselblad in hand for most of his work. He normally shoots Tri-X developed in D-76 or Rodinal, and T-Max 400 or Infrared film, both souped in Diafine. When pressed, he will confess to carrying a digital point-and-shoot camera these days for shooting color. He still finds the aroma of Sodium Thiosulfate pleasant in the darkroom, but has added the scanner and Photoshop to his workflow. He won't turn up his nose to a fine Carbon Ink print.

When asked about inspiration, he's likely to respond with the smart aleck remark, "When I see a picture, I just push the button". He really believes it's almost that simple. He thinks he's a Time-Traveler, making his way through ephemeral alignments of form, light and shadow, line, and gesture. The camera is his tool of choice for recording that passage. He thinks that if he's skillful, or lucky, and has observed with a discerning eye, he might put a frame around an interesting moment and make a compelling photograph... Stop Time. Make Art.

Flippancy aside, I welcome your inquiries and comments about my work. I remain a Humble Photographer, always watching with a hopeful eye...
